AL CAPPELLO ROSSO HOTEL IN BOLOGNA'S MAIN SQUARE - PIAZZA MAGGIORE - Our objective is to be masters in the art of hospitality. In Bologna, with over six hundred years of history, the Al Cappello Rosso hotel boasts an innate welcoming vocation, enhanced today by a modern and efficient management. Located, since its origins, in the highly central and quiet via de’ Fusari, the hotel represents one of the oldest sites of Bolognese hospitality, welcoming its first travelers passing through Bologna in 1375. It was created in the 14th century by order of the bishop of Bologna Nicolò Albergati, thus ensuring his protection for the Jews who passed through Bologna and who could not stay in the city for more than three days and only at the Capel Rosso hotel. Later Cardinal Albornoz gave it its sign, depicting a cardinal’s hat, to mark it as lodging intended for the architects and artists involved in building the Basilica of San Petronio from the late 14th to the 15th century. |
